Regardless of what his on the air personality mite be like & why, in person he's an arrogant prick. A St.Trooper friend stopped him, hitting 97 in a 60 mph on I-10 last yr & the first words out of his mouth was "obviously you don't know who I am". And it went south from there as the state trooper let him bury himself. When he made the comment that he was going to call his contact in the governor's office first thing in the morning, the trooper started writing additional charges on the ticket & Brando got madder & madder but finally shut up. I've heard similar stories bout him using the " you don't know who I am " line around BR to get favors, at restaruants, bars, etc.
