Yes. The charm bar has search and it can be pulled up on the start screen or desktop by hovering the mouse in the top right corner or hitting windows + C.

I'm settling in a bit. I've read a few guides and learned a few useful things.

The main thing pissing me off now is the problem shutting down and I've had no response on the windows forums.

You have to love the interwebs.

I found a post for windows 7 experiencing the same sleep/ shutdown reboot problem.

My mother board has a driver applechrger.sys which is bad. The post listed a program to uncheck that driver so it won't load. Which I did. It worked.

Now I can turn my system off AND..... that driver was also causing the slow boot. 2 birds with one stone.
