re: Per 680thefan yesterday, Miles only over-rules the really "F'd up" play calls...

Miles is a master recruiter right? Either you are recruiting busts, or you can't develop talent.
Bingo. The past 4 years would suggest the latter.

What are you talking about? A little over dramatic are we...
Do you know how many teams out there would take Les and our win/ loss record over the past several years? I do not have an issue with calling out bone headed play calling or even the cluster which is our offensive production, but lets not get carried away here...

Miles wants his qb to over throw wide open receivers and the receivers to drop tons of balls? This is news. Lsu has been throwing the ball around a lot execution has been the problem. But go ahead and continue crying about successful coaches.
When are our receivers wide open? Oh, you must mean on those really high percentage deep balls. Other than that, it's slants and bubbles with defenders all over them.
Miles has his two tight, two back offense with zero creativity. Exactly what he wanted. Now what?
Keep throwing those kids under the bus though to defend your successful coach. Maybe if those players execute this time against Bama, we can have over 92 yards of offense this go round.

I don't know how he does it, but he keeps winning. All you can say right now, until his methods costs us a game or two every year.

"CLM makes his team a winner before the ball is even teed up" This quote I cannot question because I dont know what he does before the ball is teed up. But if this is true, everything he does after the ball is teed up negates anything he did to help them win. South Carolina game, middle of a quarter with 20 seconds on play clock in the middle of a series, out of nowhere, for no reason, he calls timeout. Makes no sense. Against Ole Miss several years ago, he pushes the blame off on another coach for not calling the time out at the end of the game. lsuexpert, you are dead wrong. The head coach is responsible for time management. He has coordinators to call plays. As Head Coach, when you make these hires you damn well better trust them to do their job so you can handle "Game Management" issues. Do you realize Fiutak is saying? Not only do you have a OC and DC, you now have a "Game Management Coordinator"..Holy crap, could you imagine what the sidelines would look like then...If CLM can overrule his OC, dont you think he can over rule his "GMO".....point being the buck stops with CLM. Final note, yes he wins games, but he does not always put his players in the best situations to win games. The National Championship was disgusting. He should flat be embarassed. Explain his greatness letting his team drowned and did ABSOLUTELY nothing to save them Not even a reverse. 3rd and 6, 10 minutes to go in game and you run a FB dive (even if JJ checked to that, the formation was still TE/wing)...greatness? Jarret Lee stayed loyal to LSU and put them in a position to win a national championship and how CLM responds is letting him kneel on the ball in the SEC championship....GREATNESS? Then CLM held his team hostage by not giving Lee a chance to play to MAYBE change the outcome....GREATNESS? As a coach you realize there is NO tomorrow and you throw the kitchen sink at Alabama....he did nothing but let his players, staff and fans get humiliated....Sorry sir, but that is not greatness

Any play can be successful if executed right
This is not true. Some of the passing plays that LSU runs are very poorly designed. A high school defense can effectively defend a large portion of the routes ran in LSU's passing game.

You really have to know football and coaching to grasp his greatness. This is the main reason why so many in our fan base don't understand what they have in CLM.
but, but, but.............we have thousands of fans that know MORE than miles. just ask them. they esp. know the offense that they learn from video games and that is directly transferable to real like, isn't it?

I certainly recognize we have something great in Les. However, with the talent he recruits LSU should be better than they are. The QBS are not 'coached up' and sometimes adjustments are not made. The game this past January is a prime example.
If it's over-ruling the really F'd up plays, that means there's quite a few regular F'd up plays??For me, it's the little things that bug me - the penalties especially. There are a 100 other teams that would love to be where we are and recruit like we do. It's the offense that needs tweaking. Hardly anyone bitches about the defense - it's always the offense.

Not saying the guy definitely has some inside source but they do watch and cover LSU football pretty well to be such a distance away. They are certainly more knowledgable than Bama fans and Bama radio hosts about LSU.

Just like the DC debacle before him, and the Crowton OC debacle, Miles will ride these guys into the ground until the pressure is so great he must let them go...but he'll let the program take a hit first before he does anything.

I was listening when this was said. It was Chuck Oliver. I know he's in Atlanta but he does have "a guy" for pretty much every SEC team and most ACC and CUSA teams. Whether or not "his guy" every really knows anything is another story. But he does always have some inside info. He's very connected with Auburn. He did graduate from there tho.

This is totally false. He was an OC before he came to lsu.

These types of "fans" have been predicting the lsu program will decline every year les has been here. It's pretty sad.

I wouldn't say 'totally false'. He was "OC" under Urban Meyer but let's be honest, how much playcalling was he really doing?

Goddamn you sound like a bitter bastard.
He is 82-19. Nuff said.
Typically tard that thinks LSU should go 14-0 every single year and win the national championship every single year and have the number 1 recruiting class in the nation every year because we are LSU.
