I remember u talking about it last yr, then saw your post the other day about trapping your new hawk.
So that brings me to my question.. Do you have to catch a new one every year? Do you release them every year?

Some people release them every year. Others keep them 20+ years. Training a new one is a lot of fun. That said, I plan to keep this one a long time unless he just doesn't pan out as a hunter. I would have kept the one I had last year, but she just didn't seem very good at catching stuff. My plan is to keep this guy as my staple, and try some other kinds of hawks once I get my general's license in a few months.
