Completely agree and that has no bearing on whether or not Jordan is any good.

All of negative talk about Jordan is very similar to the comments people used to make about Charles Grant. "If he can't get to the QB then move his slow, fat arse inside" and "He's really good against the run". But at least Grant was good for 5 or 6 sacks a year.

The best thing you can say about Jordan is that he doesn't get blown off the line of scrimmage and he can string a blocker out to the sidelines. And that's really good to have that half of your job description fulfilled.

But you can't be considered a good DE today if you can't get to the QB and he just hasn't shown the speed and set of skills required. Under two different DCs he's only produced a sack a piece we can't blame it on scheme. He's big, slow, and his only pass rushing move is the bull rush. He's a DT yall.

I just wish people would stop making excuses for players who underperform and just call a duck a duck.

I don't think that it is fair to compare Grant and Jordan. With Grant, you always had to worry about his work ethic. Once he got paid, his production dropped drastically and he was gone within a few seasons of his payday.

I haven't seen anything from Jordan that makes me think that he is lazy. He doesn't take plays off. He plays through the whistle. He will continue to improve as a pass rusher and as a run defender.I think that if we can improve the players around him on the DL, he will have a bigger impact in rushing the passer.
