A few things:
1. Whoever mentioned the Mondavi wines from Napa was right.
2. I've gone through a few bottles of Cabernet from Franciscan, and they were very good.
Another cab that's wonderful in the $20-$25 range is from Penley Estates. You owe it to yourself to try it.
For those who like big, Zinfandel based blends,
"The Vault" from Bank Note is pretty good.
And, I don't purchase a lot of white wine, but I do like the Chardonnay from Newton. It's quality stuff.
