Because I have a different opinion than you? I guess I should expect this kind of discourse from someone with the username of Breesus...lots of objectivity.

Maybe its the owners making football popular, not Goodell.
You could even make that argument if you wanted to. I'd probably tend to agree with that much more than the notion that Goodell is ruining the NFL, when that is simply not the case.

You can say that he is ultimately responsible for both if it makes you feel better, but the fact of the matter is that he followed orders from the owners to get a better deal. It just backfired on them.
Just stop man. You're embarrassing yourself.

Do you honestly believe that The Saints were trying to hurt people to the degree of what it has been blown up to?

stop flaming the thread. if you really think that no one is pissed off at Goodell besides saints fans then you are just naive and i feel sorry for your stupidity. Yes saints fans are more pissed off than others bc the NFL basically gutted us the year we have a good shot of playing for the superbowl in NO, but there still a large percentage of football fans, including players, who tired of Goodell's BS.

Hey fricknut, you're on a Saints message board bashing our entire fanbase and defending the man railroading our team. Yeah you should expect it.

Vilma's lawyer was pretty impressive in front of Berrigan. Would love to see the string of witnesses testifying "No, never saw anything like that.", then bring Cerullo & GW up for grilling.
Would love to see this too. BTW, where has Darren Sharper been? He was pretty vocal right at the onset of this whole thing and pretty much said Vilma never offered any cash to anyone. Certainly he would be a witness.

I agree this whole "bountygate" deal has gotten out of hand but part of that is because Vilma and others won't let it go. Is it pretty unfair? Yep. You know what rule I learned as a child - life isn't fair sometimes.
From the people I've talked to from different states outside of the SE, most people are kinda getting tired of the Saints logo simply because it's always on ESPN with "Vilma filed another lawsuit alleging that blah blah blah". While he might be in the right, albeit only technically, at what point does he/saints fans move on?
Let's be real for a minute - if the Saints we 5-0, no one would be talking about this and the lawsuits would've probably stopped. But when you're 1-4 - excuses gotta go somewhere, right?
ETA: Also, and maybe I'm missing something, but didn't Goodell warn the Saints FO numerous times to stop the pay for performance crap years before the hammer came down?

[quote]the NFL is more popular under Goodellquote]
The NFL has been the most popular its ever been the last two years. Wait what has happened those two years.
the lockout of players
bounty scandal
the lockout of refs
seems to me that someone is causing a lot of controversy to get everyone talking about their brand.

The point is that basically every team in the league does it, as admitted by former and current players and coaches. And we are being scapegoated for it. Sorry that seems to bother us so much.

Hey no argument there. You guys got absolutely railroaded when almost, if not every, team does or did this stuff. Then again, maybe that's why it amuses me so much! I'm just kidding - I actually want to beat the Saints when they have every player/coach. No excuses dammittttt.

I cant fault you for that. If this was happening to the falcons id get a small amount of joy from it.

You wont beat us this year w/o them. That game should actually be a good one with Vitt back and the D improving.
ETA:
You've always been a solid poster for a falcons fan. Never flame and you seem intelligent.
