There is no way we are ahead of ND and I am an Oregon fan. I wouldn't feel like we deserved it if ND can get through their schedule unscathed.

you are already ahead of Notre Dame. It would be unprecedented for an undefeated #2 team to fall like that in the human polls. I know the "media" loves Notre Dame, but Oregon is now a brand name in their own right. Besides, their schedule is not that much tougher. OU and USC vs USC and maybe USC again. Remember you play USC first, so will them beating a twice beaten USC seem as impressive.

ETA: The only team that will move ahead if they win out is South Carolina. Their schedule > Notre Dame. My prediction undefeated SEC Champ is in and so is Oregon if they win out, no matter who else finishes undefeated.

There are a lot of factors but Oregon State, Stanford, and USC would have to play there part. However, in this assumption Stanford and USC are at least 3 loss teams with Oregon and Notre Dame beating them. We would need Oregon State to be the equivalent to OU. Then we would need an ASU/UW/UA to be the same as Michigan/Michigan State. I guess the championship game would help.

At the very end of the season it would be weird but before...it's not unheard of.

Penn State was jumped in week 9 as #1 w/o losing in 1994.

But I just don't see ND beating USC by a wider margin than Oregon...it doesn't seem that is how ND is built compared to Oregon.

Since they have common opponents...it would be really hard for ND to jump Oregon if they're both undefeated despite ND's name brand.
