For some reason, the guys can't seem to execute the 5-6 core plays of the LSU offense. It's impossible to expect them to be able to execute any more of the playbook when they even do their bread and butter plays.

1. WR's can't catch. That is the root of all the offensive ineptitude.

2. playbook sucks. Very little misdirection trickery with the offense. The rare occasions when they do this stuff it usually works.

3. Penalties have been a problem this year as well.

That said the playbook and penalties didn't keep us from winning a single game. Had the WR's caught the ball as well they should have we would be undefeated right now.

I like OBJ but his play and Boone's play this weekend cost us the Florida game. How hard is it to NOT field a punt inside the 10! I bet a million dollars my youngest daughter could follow that one simple rule! Drop drop fumble ugghhhhh!!!

The offense's scheme is not ideal and the play calling is not that great either. I agree in the SEC you have to have the ability to adjust your gameplan otherwise you end up too predictable, it allows the defense to get confident and comfortable. If you never take advantage of that, you're going to run straight into their aggressive strengths every time.

But even if the scheme and the play calling doesn't take advantage of any situation, there are still plays that could have been made. Florida had our offense figured out by the 3rd or 4th drive. But Mett was still delivering passes to open receivers every now and then. At least 3-4 passes that could have been caught and converted for 1st down.

A few of those conversions and that big play by OBJ that slipped away could have easily changed the Florida defense's mindset. Execution is biggest thing right now, gotta feel lucky that one of the things to fix is something as simple as catching the ball.
