Its getting younger actually now. Most larger clubs are starting U9 academy programs with pro coaches training them and seeking competitive style tournaments to play in. In the last 10 years Ive seen it go from U11 being the first year of competitive down to U9.. Hopefully the trend continues.


PS - in Louisiana, about 8 yrs ago we used to play 11 v 11 from U11 ages up. That was changed to 8v8 through U12 and 11v11 starts at U13. Thats a positive imo. (imagine the cluster frick with 22 10yr olds on one field )

it sounds similar to the training session that someone linked of LFC in Boston... very fast paced, one touch passing, small pitch...

I guess since BR is a disciple of tiki-taka, that shouldn't be a surprise...

well that's good to hear, like i said i havent been involved with youth soccer for quite some time and luckily i have no children
