re: .380 vs .22 Magnum Pistol for Self-defense

Got some great info from this thread. Thanks to all who posted.
To sum things up, me and the girl are going to have gun shop date day and try to put the following in her hands:

Here's what I'm going to do:
1. I think Bapple has convinced me to first let her try a regular 9mm. If she's ok with that, then that opens up a whole other realm of possibilities. At a minimum, though will try the Ruger SR9 and maybe a Glock

2. If 9mm doesn't work for her, then try handling the following .380 autos
-Baretta 84
-Hi-cap Bersa

Ruling out
-FN Five Seven (price and ammo)
-KelTec PMR-30 (velocity under 1,200 FPS with only a 40 grain bullet…same as a .22 LR rifle)
