LSU has been on this kid as of late. I will remain a "glass half full" guy for Gilmore.

Couldn't get into Ole Miss. I doubt he could qualify at LSU. Some of his classes from Cali aren't transferable to all schools

He's looking into getting everything fixed up because he sounds like he really wants to be in the SEC. LSU is showing an interest but is really keeping an eye on his grades

The SEC either needs to change their stance on online math classes or there needs to be an across the board qualification for jucos. SEC schools are basically wasting their time with jucos half the time. 1st this kid and now TE Beau Sandland, who we offered among other SEC schools, and now is not eligible for SEC schools because his JC doesn't offer enough in person math classes. It's ridiculous to have something so simple cost schools money in scouting and recruiting kids that can't get into SEC schools but can any other school in any other conference. Doesn't effect us very much but it could in the future.(it did with the Loadholt kid that ended up at Oklahoma and the NFL)

I've never understood why the NCAA hasn't stepped in with this and given every conference the same base requirements. I understand schools have their own and that's what makes them all different, but to say kids like this are able to go to any school outside of the SEC but not within the conference because of a small issue like this is just wrong.

I don't understand why there is a problem. why can't schools determine very, very early in the process that a jc doesn't offer the correct classes to get into sec schools? why are w ejust finding this out now? if we went through this with loadholt, then we should be on top of it.

Most of the time it's because the transcripts are slow in getting to the college staffs and sometimes because of late enrollment dates for classes.
Combs' situation is more monetary then academic. He just can't afford to continue going to JC for another semester. For that reason it's imperative that he enroll at midterm and that eliminates the SEC schools because of the nontransferrable courses and the math class. We just got on him even after the Ole Miss decommitment for the above reasons. Don't really know what the deal is. Stay tuned
With Sandland, it was a matter of him trying to get enrolled in a physical math class and the school just didn't offer enough and ran out of spots. Just last week was the final week for him to get the class done and he didn't have a spot so he had to eliminate all the SEC offers.
Anyone that has had any experience with Jucos knows it's not always easy getting transcripts made available with any sense of urgency.
