Guess I do, looks like Evans has the ball on the inside of his right foot while being cleated on his left foot by shelvey's studs. Doesn't look like shelvey is even going for the ball from this angle either.

For the record, I really don't like evans either. I will give you that I do see evans studs showing. This is my first look from this angle.

That's a terrible angle of it fwiw, there is a better picture that clearly shows both going for a 50/50 ball and Evans going in w/ two feet and studs up. Both should have been sent of imo.

Here's the video of it, watch Evans go in with both feet, couple of good replays in there, still think both either go or don't, can't just send one off. LINK

This is all that matters. Cards in these situations are solely about intent and not about the result of the tackle. Shelvey's tackle in no way hurt Evans (even though he rolled around like he'd gotten shot in the face). They both made bad tackles, because both had studs up. If anything Shlevey sweeps his leg in while Evans lunges straight at Jonjo. That's more egregious in my opinion.

Thats the only pic I could find on a quick search... f you watch the video, Shelvey actually gets the ball and not Evans (I agree about intent)... Like I said, if you are going to send Shelvey off, Evans has to go too... But, for the sake of the game, I think a firm warning for both would have been better...

That said, it was only a matter of time before Shelvey was sent off in a game... He is very Scholes-esque in his tackling... gonna hurt someone one day...
