This is why I believe the theory that Barney's sister is the mother. That way it's not just a random person. It has to either be a person like that who is either related to one of the main characters or has some type of connection to a previous story.

Can't put to much into the Aunt/Uncle thing. Marshall and Lily get the same treatment.
