Thoughts on Lawless?

Think the general consensus is that it's pretty shitty, so you'll probably love it.

This is what I said in a Lawless thread from a few days ago:

Didn't love this movie. It was very watchable, but had a choppy, probably-had-too-much-left-on-the-cutting-room-floor story. What was there was cool, but I wanted learn more about some shite.

- Hardy's great as usual, plays a thoughtful, surprisingly humourous badass
- Shia was really good, only second thing I've ever seen him in
- Pearce, while unique, was almost distracting, and too sneering as the villain
- Much less action than I thought, but that didn't bother me
- Climax was anti-climactic, and I thought was just kinda "sure, ok."
- Could've gone much deeper with female leads and their interactions...pretty stock characters.
- Hillcoat just has an awesome eye, and makes his worlds so real

I'd recommend this movie as something to see, especially if you like all the talent involved, but I think it wouldn't satisfy your average movie fan. The Proposition is a much better collaboration between Hillcoat and Cave.

Liked the feel but sort of anti climatic and the climax should have happened a lot sooner than it did.
Needed more of the famous outlaw guy, can't think of name.
Worth a watch but meh overall.
