I have a friend in need of sandbags, because their house backs up to the bayou that is about to flood. Anyone know where some might be available?

Usually the fire stations have sandbags.
I grew up off Antioch Road and the St. George Fire Station on Antioch always had sand and bags for anyone who needed them.

Call the local firestations. If they do not have any they will be able to assit you. Also try to 211 number. They may also know.

Five seconds reading the article:
"BATON ROUGE: Curt Monte, Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman, said sandbags are no longer available for residents. He stressed that residents should not attempt to drive to find sandbags at this point, because the roads are too dangerous."
Thanks for the offer and tips, I think they found some to use.

Yeah, I saw that too. You'll note that article was last updated on 8/28.
As another poster said, you should call first. A lot can change in 3 days.
Also, the list was very long and offered up a gazillion other places in the metro to get sandbags.
