Kiffin feels more like a regular coach who is a great recruiter...a grinder who can recruit great athletes...and calls a pretty good game but he's not uber-special.
He doesn't have the special "whatever you want to call it" that Pete brought...this air about the team of invincibility and optimism and excitement.
No USC fan was terribly excited about getting Kiffin after having PC...and you know...going into any game...hey, we could lose...but so far, he's exceeded expectations.
But for most USC fans:
"In Lane we trust?" Not yet. The jury is still out and has a long deliberation. He could prove the doubters wrong...who knows? But I like what he's done so far.

That about sums it up.
I was pretty impressed that with the youth of last year's team, he was able to get them to improve. Hell, it might have been mostly Monty, because the defense improved a hell of a lot towards the end of the season. Kiffins gonna Kiffin.
