Damn cool piece of currency if you ask me.
Seems like they should print more of them with inflation and all.
What gives Uncle Sam?

i collect those guys . . . .every month when i cash in my collected change i request hard to find currency. $2bills, fiddy cent pieces, and dollar coins is what i request from the bank teller. they usually look at me surprised as if i handed them a stick up note. 9 / 10 times your bank will have them though.

Same here. Glad to know I am not the only one. I get the "Da Fuq" look too.

My grandpa gave my fiancee and I 25 $2 bills at a wedding shower. Also gave a jar of honey because "she won't always be so sweet, your grandmother hasn't been."

an interesting side note... Patrick Taylor's wife spoke at graduation and she said her husband bought all the remaining $2 bills when they took them out of circulation (millions worth). she handed out envelopes to everyone graduating with a $2 bill. in one envelope she had $1500 in $2 bills. she said her husband would walk the streets of new orleans handing them out to the homeless.

Saw that one. Business college in 2005 or so I think. Oh to have that kind of money....

If you want $2 bills, any bank will order them for you.

My mom gives them out as presents it makes giving just cash a little more interesting when they have like 50 $2 bills.
Just go to your bank and ask for them, pretty sure it's free. They will give you crisp ones too.

Yeah, I do this a couple of times a month. Most of the time I go in looking for fifty cent pieces, and most of the time they do not have any. I have never asked for $2 bills. Someone mentioned you could "order" them from the bank. Just curious if there was a fee associated with "ordering" them.

Did some research, is the site below legit? If so, they could have made it a little better looking.

And to answer the question if they are still printing them, looks like they are, at least as of 2010. Not sure if they are just printing the uncut sheets. Had this note in the description for $2 bills.
quote:
The projected availability of $2 uncut currency sheets for the Public Sales Program is for summer 2012. The time frame is an estimate and is subject to change.
Public Sales Program? Different than normal print?

yes thats it, its run by the government
i love how for a sheet of 32 $1 bills it costs $61 bucks, talk about a government rip off
that currency should be at a discount since they arent required to cut it
side note: when i'm a true OT baller, i will buy uncut sheets and cut them myself as needed, cant wait to see people's reactions

Check this link out for a "2012 $2 Single Note" and maybe you can answer a question I have.
LINK
In the description, and I noticed this on other $2 bills, it says:
So, was it printed in 2003? What does the "Series 2003A" mean?

really no idea, i dont know that much about money besides i use it to buy things
i tried zooming in to read which treasurer's name is on the bill but couldnt read it, if you can do that, that'll tell you the time frame it was printed
wikipedia talks about it at the bottom of this, apparently that series just indicated the uncut sheets?

Thanks for the link... A lot of interesting info for sure... Looks like 2003A represents being printed in Boston...
quote:
Uncut $2 sheets from Series 2003 were printed for the Boston (A), Atlanta (F), Chicago (G), Minneapolis (I), and Dallas (K) Federal Reserve Districts

i just find it dumb they printed them in 03 and are holding onto them until now to release them since the serial # matches the year
you'd def be a boss rolling around with uncut bills and using them to pay for stuff though
