Why Aren't There More $2 Bills In Circulation?

i collect those guys . . . .every month when i cash in my collected change i request hard to find currency. $2bills, fiddy cent pieces, and dollar coins is what i request from the bank teller. they usually look at me surprised as if i handed them a stick up note. 9 / 10 times your bank will have them though.

I got robbed by the subway cashier last week. She was supposed to give me a $5 and must have given me a $2. I didnt realize it until later that night. Now I havea $2 bill and I dont know what the hell to do with it.

an interesting side note... Patrick Taylor's wife spoke at graduation and she said her husband bought all the remaining $2 bills when they took them out of circulation (millions worth). she handed out envelopes to everyone graduating with a $2 bill. in one envelope she had $1500 in $2 bills. she said her husband would walk the streets of new orleans handing them out to the homeless.

Saw that one. Business college in 2005 or so I think. Oh to have that kind of money....

Is there a charge?

My mom gives them out as presents it makes giving just cash a little more interesting when they have like 50 $2 bills.

Just go to your bank and ask for them, pretty sure it's free. They will give you crisp ones too.

Did some research, is the site below legit? If so, they could have made it a little better looking.

And to answer the question if they are still printing them, looks like they are, at least as of 2010. Not sure if they are just printing the uncut sheets. Had this note in the description for $2 bills.

In the description, and I noticed this on other $2 bills, it says:

So, was it printed in 2003? What does the "Series 2003A" mean?
