Lane Kiffin describes the SC pursuit of Silas Redd

Here's how it went down, according to Lane.
"I picked up the phone, in true SC fashion and called one of our great donors Ted Jones at Fletcher Jones Mercedes and I called him when we were at the SoHo House for the PAC-12 dinner and he said, 'Let me guess, you're calling about Silas. Where y'at?'"
"So he sent his big ole Mercedes jet which was in Vegas to pick us up in LA. We got done with the PAC-12 meetings. We flew to White Plains, NY. It was myself, my dad, our running backs coach, our o-line coach."
"We called Coach Orgeron. He was in Louisiana. He got on a plane. Our defensive backs coach was in Nebraska. He got on a plane. The only two we couldn't get were our quarterbacks coach (Clay Helton). He was in Mexico because everybody was on vacation. Our receivers coach (Tee Martin) was on a cruise, so we tried to get a helicopter to go get him, but they wouldn't let us do it."
"We're in Norwalk, CT, up near you guys. We met at a Dunkin Donuts. Got our game plan, went into the house for a 3.5 hour presentation and flew back."
When you send six coaches cross country, it impact is undeniable. The fact is, the no-hesitation approach may be the difference in SC winning the PAC-12 and playing for the national championship.

LFK and co. know how to close the deal.
BTW, looks like the secondary violation that occurred in the recruitment is okay now. Won't even be counted as a secondary violation after all. I am surprised it was not posted here.

The Times had asked QB Max Wittek about Redd and then quoted him as saying
"I told him I was sorry to hear about everything that came down and that it was obviously a difficult situation," Wittek told the paper. "But I tried to sell USC to him a little bit. I'd love to have him here. He said thanks for reaching out, that he was definitely interested and was just trying to take the right steps to decide what he was going to do."
But this is all clear now

I'll try. I actually just think this story is more evidence of how fricked up college sports is becoming. Flying a handful of coaches across country to tongue the sack of some 20 year old leaving one screwed up situation created by cult worship in order to get SC another win or two. But, maybe I just mad.

Lsu by 20+ if USC makes it,he's been nothing but Sarks lap dog at USC thus he hasn't proven shite to me.

When you consider the defenses he'll be going up against in the Pac, he'll probably negotiate 2900 yards and will be a Heisman candidate.
