You have to think of the talent level we had in the Gibbs years. Mike McKenzie was probably the only guy in our defense (if younger in healthy) that would have a chance to start on our defense.
Gibbs was also very "safe" but gave up the big play often. Spags isn't as aggressive as GW, but he's still aggressive.
