So it may be safe to wait it out a couple of days and see if it heals instead of taking him to the vet? I mean he doesnt seem like hes in any pain or anything like that

Well I'm not gonna tell you that and have your dogs eye fall out and you coming kill me 
If it was my dog I'd probably wait a few days if it doesn't look too bad. Post a pic of it.
