Athletes are far different today than what they were back when Casanova played. I too don't know much about him and I've heard numerous times that he's one of the best ever to put on a Tiger uniform, but I have a hard time believing that he was as athletic as Patric Peterson.
They didn't train the same back then as they do now and the game have evolved quite a bit.
Best in his era, no doubt. Better than Peterson, I'd have to see some substantial evidence to say that.
