BTW, when will Liverpool wise up, and rehire Rafa? He knows what he's doing, better than 90+% of the coaching world, and he loves the club. I don't get it.
Liverpool have found their manager for the next 5+ years. Rafa is brilliant, and I don't think many of us would complain if he came back, but it was just time for the club to move forward. The owners were in a horrible position and Rafa just wasn't in the question. Take over with Woy, fire him. Hire Dalglish (previous manager), fire him. Imagine the backlash if Rafa would have failed.
Anyway, I thought you would like Rodgers since he is a student of the Spanish game. Pretty sure he would do anything to be Pep for a day.

Whether Rodgers is a Spanish game disciple or not, is not important, I just feel they're in a big sleep. Again, it may be, that he's got a great hole to get out of, and better someone who is local. I don't know. All I see is the 'being Liverpool' BS, and I can't glean from that what his style is. That said, maybe the Spanish style is not right going forward.

Then again, what is the Spanish style? Attacking and defending in the contrary's side is something which can be done a myriad of ways.
We're already seeing morphs.

I mentioned the other day, If I was MCFC... I'd dump Mancini and hire Rafa... He would have them competing in Europe from day 1

You mean like how Barça under Tito plays differently than Barça under Pep?

May I add, Rafa didn't play what is now known as the Spanish style. They defended in the front third, but were not attacking, whatsoever.
Rafa showed the translator how to play.
The big thing with Rafa is he is an American type guy. He is all about heart and soul. The famous 'buy in'. He won with shite and against the odds. Which has it's 'desgaste'. Burnout? I don't know the exact translation.
He was let go before he still got what he wanted, even though it was evident that the 'desgaste' was too heavy to bear.

Previous ownership did their best to put the club in a pit. And the new owners haven't done much as of yet to separate themselves from the previous wanks.
The Being Liverpool is something I hate. Gimmicky bullshite by American owners to gain market presence.
If Rodgers' time at Swansea is any indicator, the Spanish style seems like it can work, especially if LFC can get back into Europe (the ultimate prize, as Rafa showed - European results > league results (it's a shame really)). He has essentially deployed a 4-5-1 so far, and we continue to be linked with more midfielders than forwards. He wants to mimic what Pep has done. The only problem is 1) the money has dried up and 2) our midfielders can't find a way to score.

Not at all.

Nailed it. In his new book (worth a read might I add) he says how shite that CL team was and how tactically dull they were.

I know this was probably Fenway Sports main goal, but I think its become more than that. It's drawn us as fans closer into the inner workings of the club, its players, and their lives. That can't be that bad of a thing.

It is high comedy to see an army of overweight computer programmers and housewives parading down a police protected street. Really.

I agree 100%. It has found its way (or should I say 'lost its way') into a sea of bad television

Shouldn't that be more of an indictment of American soccer supporters than Liverpool and the documentary?

I don't get it either. It's gay because Liverpool has American supporters?

It's anti-natural.

You would hate New Orleans.

This is the CLASSIC misunderstanding of USA is like Europe. It is not, and never will be.
This is not bad, this is not good, it's simply the way things are.

I've been to New Orleans, twice, and it is different. Different from Europe, different from the USA. I comprehend.

We have parades. You think parades are gay. Therefore, you think New Orleans is gay?
