I shouldn't have used age, because clearly there are exceptions. Though Jenks' resume compared to Alaba or Jack's...well there is no comparison. He's not on that level. He's got minimal first team experience and throwing him out against Ribery would've been borderline suicidal. Sagna is better, more experienced in big matches, and has gone up against Ribery countless times in the French set-up. It was a no-brainer to start him.
As for your crosses comment, what good would that have done us with Theo up front? It was wise of him not to pump in hopeless crosses. That decision is more indicative of the failed strategy (starting Theo instead of Giroud after we've gotten used to knocking it up to him) than any failure on Sagna's part.

I'm not sure where you keep getting these thoughts from of what I do or don't think.
I don't think we should have "thrown Jenkinson out there" for this match without much experience, I am however suggesting that we should have left him out there even when Sagna came back from his injury after about 10 matches.
He was playing great and there was zero reason to make the swap, Sagna isn't some amazing RB anymore, he's good and mostly just at defense. Jenkinson has his workrate and probably beats his speed (+offensively) and is young enough that he is definitely still improving.
Also yes some of the offensive blame is on Sagna's inability to put in a decent cross, but everyone knows he can't do that so it's the definition of stupidity for us to keep forcing the ball out to him (I saw the midfielders and CB's constantly pointing to him to direct the rest of the team that way, so clearly it was a "plan")
Hopefully that's typed clearly enough that it comes across on here, I never claimed to be an excellent writer but this is getting ridiculous.
