Part of the college baseball is not big is because of jackasses like that. Another reason I loath MLB. How many HS pitchers go through much worse for a state ship with nothing said?

i know keith law rails about misuse of college pitchers all the time on ESPN, and he's not wrong. his logic being that at some point, the market for talent would tilt to the schools that balance the program's success w/ the kid's future success. i've heard him say a number of programs have terrible reps at the big league level for burning out pitchers -- rice w/ wayne graham is one i remember him discussing in some detail.
however, the specific thing he's talking about is exactly what a number of posters have brought up -- using pitchers like Stony Brook did, not the fluke scenario that played out yesterday.
