Have used vinegar before, it works.
An old black woman in St. Francisville told me about milk.
The absolute best I have ever used was to add milk to the marinade and soak that shite for a day or so. Works on anything, made a big boar I shot last year taste as sweet as a little piglet slow roasted in an oven bag.
Milk is now the base of all of my marinades on wild game.
