Welbeck started in a few matches this past year. And quit changing your argument. You're looking like a fool.

And I expect he'll grow into a very good player, better than the mexican for sure.

What does this even mean? You yourself posted your starting XI for next year and it didn't include a single homegrown player. I commented that it was silly for Man U fans to try and act high mighty and noble about doing it the "right way" if that was the case. Just because you have a couple of squad players that came though is no big deal. So does pretty much every other team.

I posted one with Smalling.
You said that we wouldn't post a "starting XI with a single homegrown player" next season. So I posted that list of homegrown guys who have or will probably start at one point for us. Then you say "first choice starting XI". Welbeck might be a year or two from cracking first choice, but he'll get there. Phil Jones too.
Also, don't rope all Man U fans together. I know that big-time soccer is all about putting the best team together with the money you have, so naturally you pick from other spots instead of your own system. Whether you're loaded like Man City and Chelski or trying to make a profit like United and Arsenal, you put the best team out there that you can.

It depends on what you mean by homegrown. Smalling came from Fulham, but to be fair we bought him from some non-league club (for like a case of cheap beer). Smalling isn't homegrown IMO, whatever that means, he made first team appearances for Fulham and was brought in to be a first-team player, if not a regular starter.
Not that I'm that interested in getting into this argument about who's "doing it right."
Even with kids, a lot of teams buy them from other smaller clubs and put them in their academy. Is that homegrown? I don't know.
Cleverly and Wellbeck may have started in United's academy. For all the talk about City's spending, they have a decent-ish academy. Richards came up, so did Sturridge, although they sold him to Chelsea.
