Anyone know what they're biting: Plastics, live shrimp, or croakers?

They haven't been picky but the bite has been an early bite and has hinged on tide movement. So make sure you are in the water for sunrise. I would actually be out there just before sunrise. The bite has only been lasting till about 8:30-9:00 then it shuts down until later in the evening.

Suspending mirroulure crank baits are working well right now for the bigger fish as well as topwater(bone color). Throw double rigs for numbers. The water has been clear with sunny skies so throw stuff that is light in color.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like a glow in the dark DOA will do just the trick on a cork.

Thanks

This is the pattern we have found over the past month or so. If you're not out there when the sun is coming up you've already missed the hot bite.

I fished the surf at Elmer's with live shrimp on Saturday and had a rough go at it. Couldn't get away from the spanish macks. Elmer's was packed...had boats passing 15 yards from me as I was standing in the surf.

For those of you that have been having good luck surf fishing, where have you been going. State park, jetties at camanada pass or Elmers
