Do you mean Ivy Bridge ? Ivy Bridge runs cooler until you overclock. Ivy Bridge won't OC as well as Sandy at the high end.
My Ivy Bridge i5 is OC'd to 4.25 right now and is running at only 30 deg C.
The temps don't matter until you really start pushing the processor hard with OC'ing. Under normal use 3 to 5 deg doesn't mean a thing.

I am just reading up on things and I think if I go Intel it will be the i5 over the i7. Why did you go with the i5?
