Why didn't Frodo just fly on one of those damn eagles that lifted him out of the volcano at the end of the movie at the beginning of the movie to drop the ring in the lava so I wouldn't have wasted nine hours of my life on this overly-dramatic and CGI-tastic "masterpiece"?
I know you're just trolling but there is a reason Frodo didn't just hop on an eagle and fly into Mordor.
1) Nazgul
2) Sauron would've spotted him pretty damned easily and then all would've been lost. The entire book hammers home this point. Sauron is the most powerful being in Middle-earth and Frodo had to sneak in so that they could get to Mt. Doom and destroy the ring before Sauron knows what is going on.

I'll admit that I didn't watch LOTR at first because I thought it was going to be a nerdy D&D type movie.
But I was wrong. I know very few people who did not see the trilogy and even less that didn't like it. It's no more nerdy than Star Wars and if you have to be a nerd to like Star Wars then I guess just about everyone is a fricking nerd.

Nope. I don't do that. I was just stating my opinion that it was drawn out and overly-dramaticized, not to mention a CGI-lover's wet dream. Maybe my fault with it was that Jackson was too true to Tolkien and didn't use enough artistic license to make it more appealing & believable. Or it could be that I should've watched them in installments. By the end of the saga, my feeling for all the characters and the plot was IJDGAF.

Has anyone called him out yet for so obviously ripping off "How it should have ended" like it was his own thought?

Agree, sound reasoning within the context of the movie/books.
