Sorry. I disagree. I believe the theists try to stifle any discussion where they have to defend their beliefs.

I agree.

But if there isn't a threat, they don't have to establish any defense. I think posters like TulaneLSU, catholictigerfan, and others genuinely enjoy discussing the workings of the church, various biblical passages, and so forth...as evidenced by the Daily Bible threads.

Quite honestly, though, we shouldn't even be having this conversation. Religion threads were posted on PT, and did fine. All of this conversation is erupting from a series of changes that shouldn't have occurred in the first place.

I think that religious threads did okay on the poliboard, where they could be great with it's own board and structure to the debates.

Yep. Religion debates belong on the Poli Board. The only conceivable reason for not allowing them on there could be too much complaining by a certain group of people (and we all know which group I think complained ). The problem is that these complainers had a sympathetic ear(s) in the admins because, IMO, many of the admins hold the same opinions as the complainers.

the problem is that many see any questionings of their belief as a direct attack, which simply isn't the case. They can either respond to said attack or ignore it. I wouldn't include TulaneLSU on that list either, since he openly flames his religion on other boards

i agree, although i would greatly enjoy a Worldviews board. It would give this website the best chance for more growth too IMO
