take one box of yellow cake mix. mix as per directions on box adding sliced pineapples and chopped pecans. bake. punch holes with the backside of a wooden spoon on the cake after it cools off. the holes should be about 3 inches apart. pour can of condensed milk into the holes and all over the top of cake. top with coolwhip and shredded coconut. place in icebox until cool.

enjoy.

A simple pineapple upside down cake done well is taste bud sin. The pineapple and brown sugar caramel at the bottom are candy, the cake made from a sponge batter is a light fluffy thing that melts in your mouth.

I've made that exact recipe. Not as good as it sounds. Not any coconut flavor which is the base for piña colada. Just tasted like yellow cake with pineapple.

Made modifications a second time with 1/2 condensed milk and 1/2 coconut milk and alittle coconut rum. Was much better but not perfect.

My mom used to do a butterfinger cake similar to that when I was growing up for every birthday per my request.

Chocolate cake. Poke holes. Pour condensed milk. Crushed butterfinger pieces. Topped with cool whip.
