Jesus you're still trying to prop up TJ? He left because he saw next year's team wasn't going to be good so you can stop defending him now.
Yeah. I'm glad you can see into the future. We've already discussed this ad infinitum. We both agree if TJ had made the NCAA tournament next year easily, we would want him back next year.
Neither you nor I can actually see into the future and know one way or another whether or not next year's team would have made the NCAA tournament. It's speculation.
I'm not attempting to "prop" up TJ. I admitted in my post that expectations should have been NCAA tournament or bust.
My entire post was driven to provide context to the TJ tenure, which is directly relevant to this thread's intent. Most of the people on this board had forgotten about the circumstances surrounding Brady's firing because they are myopic.
I never said we should give TJ a raise. I never said we should give TJ a long-term contract. My statement was simply that I'm not sure why he was perceived the way he was.
I think anyone would agree that the following roster is substantially better than what Brady left behind, assuming Johnson would have signed Hammink and Coleman, which seems like a safe assumption:
PG: Hickey (So.)
SG: Morgan (Fr.)
SG: Hammink (Fr.)
SF: Turner (Jr.)
C: O'Bryant (So.)
Bench: Stringer (Jr.), Coleman (Jr.), Isaac (So.), JUCO bigman (Jr.), Ludwig (Sr.)
TJ's lineup after Thornton, Temple, Johnson graduated:
PG: Spencer (Jr.)
SG: Farrer (Sr.)
SF: Mitchell (Sr.)
PF: Warren (So.)
C: Green (So.)
Bench: Dennis Harris, Delwan Graham

I'm never going to forget Bo Spencer attempting a half court, last-second three pointer against MSU in 2010.
With eight seconds left.

Maybe LSU, Southern, UNO, and Tulane will all make it to the tourney as 1 seeds next year. I mean I can't see the future so there must be as good a chance of it happening as not.

Actually only one post in this thread even mentioned Trent, it was all about Brady's failings yet you still decided to prop up Trent's tenure. Everyone pointed out Brady's missteps but you take that extra step to alleviate blame from Trent.
