Are there any programs out there that I can use to manage my music and update my iPod besides iTunes? I'm pretty sure such a great product(iPod) has never been paired with such a shitty piece of software(iTunes). There has to be a better way.

Good grief.

You can get music form Amazon, but it's hardly easier.

I know there are other ways to get music. I've never purchased music from iTunes anyway. I'm talking about software to sync an iPod

What do you not like about iTunes? What makes it so shitty in your opinion?

The majority of my music was ripped to my computer before I had iTunes. The tags on the songs are all fricked up on iTunes and it's a pain in the arse to fix them using said program. I'm talking about 13,000+ songs.

I see. You probably ripped using Windows Media player which is a pain in the arse hen transferring to iTunes, or really ANY media player.

Group editing is your friend. Start with artist, work you way within artist to album, etc. I had the same problem years ago, and devoted a lot of time to organizing and tagging. Once you get it all done the sort ability of everything and the ability to view by album artwork makes things very convenient. Stick it out, I say.

I know that's what it's probably gonna come down to. I was just hoping to find an alternative. I'm having surgery on one of my feet next month so I can hopefully put a dent in it while I'm not working.

Should have never gone with an iPOD. But I can't blame you since there were not too many good options at the time. I use Google Music, WMP, and Amazon. Very happy with those.

Ubuntu recognizes ipods/iphones as a hard drive and you can just transfer back and forth as you please. This would require switching OS though
