LSU/QDMA Deer and Hog Field Day - This Saturday

Just a reminder that the Deer and Hog Field Day, sponsored by LSU and QDMA is this Saturday at the Idlewild Research Station in Clinton. Pre-registration ends on Wed so if you want to save $10, you need to call (225) 291-7500 now and register.

This event will be conducted at the Bob R. Jones-Idlewild Research Station, 2 miles south of Clinton, La. Upcoming research work from the new Bob R. Jones Wildlife Research Institute will be discussed, along with studies currently ongoing within the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. A presentation will also be given on the results from Mississippi’s mandatory antler restrictions. Because of the continued onslaught from feral hogs throughout the southeast, a professional hog removal company will give their recommendations on how to deal with these outlaw quadrupeds

Management Implications Pertaining to Mississippi’s Statewide Mandatory Antler Restrictions: Mr. Justin Thayer, Deer Program Biologist, Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
A Professional Approach to Controlling Feral Hogs in the Southeast: Mr. Rod Pinkston, Jager Pro. Hog Control Systems.
