Na, he was not competing. And to be honest, I could be wrong, but I think he only ran track for us his Freshman year and outdoor Track at that, never indoor...

Hold on just a min cowboy. Your mens team has defended and won 3 indoor track titles in a row now. But so have we for the women. Thus, we are both equal as far as that is concerned. However which one is literally Track Town USA? Which school is picked to host the Olympic Trials? They pick the best location. And who was it last time and who will it be this summer to decide who reps USA in London? Hint- Their Colors are Green and Yellow not Blue and Orange.

But good job to UF on winning your 3rd straight year with mens title(indoor track) today!

ahhhh, Oregon counting on their women to boost their track cred. Thanks for proving my point. You sound like Tennessee right now. All they have is women's basketball to lean on

Hold on cowboy. There was a time all we LSU homers had was women's track. Oregon is Track Town. No argument from me. Just like SEC is football country.

That's a bogus analogy. Women's college basketabll doesn't compare to men's college basketball when it comes to TV ratings and overall popularity. This disparity in popularity doesn't exist in track and field. Joe Sixpack can probably name just as many famous women track stars as men track stars.

Man, I never knew you had THAT rich of history in track. Man, I do follow Track some, cause I am a UO guy, but man. You guys(West Coast term to mean you-all, lol) won TONS of titles back in the day. Ya, you had a few outdoor or indoor men titles, but women's LSU literally owned. I just checked. Was impressed...

Track is probably the most successful sports at LSU. Women's track specifically is / was a monster. I was there at the formation. Albeit on the men's side. Most LSU people don't know the whole history of the track program at LSU. The casual fan attributes it to that frick at TAMU now. But he gets a lot of credit but was late to the party. loren Seagraves, who no one has heard of, really built the women's program and had a hand in the men's program.

Damn...Arkansas in the 80's and 90's was like UCLA Wooden basketball.

Didn't know USC had 26 Men's Outdoor track titles...of course the last one was in 1976. They were like ND football in the 40's, 50's, 60's.

I went to a few days of the 2008 trials in Eugene when I was finishing up my senior year and had a blast as a casual track fan. I was there the day Tyson Gay pulled up in the 200 in one of the prelims and that was a bummer. They really did a great job revamping Hayward Field while maintaining the historic "charm" so to speak. If you go this summer, enjoy!

Actually Sam Seemes was the head coach at the beginning of the women's track program with Seagrave as his assistant. But you're right, Henry didn't build anything, he was handed the keys to a Cadillac that had just won two national championships the same year he arrived. As matter, I would say that Henry inherited a more dominant program than the one that Les Miles inherited.
