bet you a dollar that the sod you lay wont live, the water oak will pull all the water and kill the grass, at least that is what happened in my back yard

Pretty much what happened before trying to replant about 10x10 on side closest to driveway. Oak is on other side of driveway.

When I moved into my house I completely torn out my old yard and resoded my lawn. I also have two massive live oaks in my yard. My grass did just fine. I aerate once a year and water a little more than I normally would. If you do those things along with the normal feeding your lawn should be fine.
