He didn't have an offer, for one.
Also, he's in texas now. A&M got several Texas kids with LSU offers in 2012.
Not every kid is naive enough to just jump on board with a program because of it's current luster, either. Surely you know that.
I wouldn't equate A&M with a program that can't conceivably land kid's with top ten offers. It happens regularly.

You can't commit to Texas or LSU when you don't have an offer from Texas or LSU.
