While some might be dismissive of experience at McNeese, we shouldn't forget it is one of THE premier FCS programs in the country.

After Appy State, Ga. Southern, Montana, and maybe Delaware, McNeese is right there. Plus, of all of those, only McNeese is located in anything resembling an SEC recruiting environment (excepting Ga Southern).

Without the NFL experience, I'm not sure this hire would have the "pop" everyone would like, but the whole resume is very, very impressive - a good blend of experience - he played college ball in Louisiana, but is from the Texas side of the line - coached in Louisiana. A very well rounded resume for a guy ~40.

Well, here in the last few years, they've been pretty middle of the road. I don't know if it's a coincidence that they've been that way since Henry left.

But hopefully, we'll be back on the road and in the playoffs again. As long as the defense would step up. Geez.
