SoS’s Power Rankings 1/22/12
1. Kentucky
2. Vanderbilt
3. Florida
4. Alabama
5. Miss St
6. Arkansas
7. LSU
8. Ole Miss
9. Tennessee
10. Auburn
11. Georgia
12. South Carolina
General Overview
LSU hosts the number 1 team in the country this weekend in Kentucky. They are filled with young talent. They start two freshman and two sophomores. Coach Calipari has been noted saying for a week now that he wants his team to lose a game in order to get better, and LSU hopes this is the one they lose. They are athletic and sometimes try to over-utilize their individual talents rather than using superior team work. That is their biggest flaw, if you can even call it that. They have both a top 10 offense and defense efficiency and their only loss came on an incredible shooting night from the entire Indiana team.
Anthony Davis leads the NCAA in shots blocked so keeping him away from shooters or getting him in foul trouble is a priority.
Overall, LSU is a big dog and should have no chance, but the PMAC will be rocking and Kentucky hasn’t been very good at pulling away early this season. They have let everyone stay in the game for at least the first half. We can hope to keep it close then be able to make some major shots like we did against Miss St.
Schedule and SEC stakes
Kentucky is the best team in the SEC and probably the country. The past few years Kentucky has struggled on the road, so if they are gonna lose this could be the one that goes the wrong way for the Cats. It would be a major victory for LSU’s confidence and their resume looking forward to March.

Anyone want to see what it's like when a lion plays with it's prey before eating it? UK by 12-14.

That doesn't look like a favorable matchup for LSU.

trent said he will choose his starters based on what Kentucky does.
if lamb starts, stringer will start. if miller starts, eddie will start.

I just checked the Vegas line, and Kentucky is only favored by 9...I was expecting much higher.
Hell, miss st was favored by more than that on Wednesday

So do you actually know the bylaws that prohibit this kind of reaction from a crowd? Or do you know where I could locate them? TIA

first, I'd like to thank the admins for freeing me on this great day for college basketball.
second, dynamite analysis as usual South. Hit up KingHippo for where we will be pregaming
I haven't been this amped for an LSU basketball game since that UConn game in the Garden in Trent's second year. And then we got blown out by nearly 30
BUT, this game will be different. I think we play for 40 minutes with Kentucky but it'll take EVERYONE'S best effort. No 5 minute stretches without a basket. Gotta hit the free points consistently. Get on the boards. Can't lose there by 20 like we did against State. We get half of those and we probably win in Starkville.
LSU 73
UK 69
