Just my opinion but generally college football fans are more passionate about their team than pro fans. If the Saints lose I'm OK that evening. If LSU loses I have several bad days ahead of me.
This is a good point. It makes sense for college football fans to be more passionate. We have a vested interest in the team, we can relate because of either being students currently, hoping to be one one day in the future, or being alumni. (Yes I know there are plenty of fans who do not/did not/will not attend LSU) When I talk about LSU sports I find myself saying "WE" a lot. Not as if I am on the team, but damn it I am a Tiger.
I am a Cowboys fan so when I talk about the Cowboys I actually find myself saying "they" instead of "we". Because I am simply a fan, I have always been one, always will be, but I am not a Cowboy.
