Avatar Size question. Is there any leeway to the rule?

I might be changing my avatar soon and the avatars that I'm looking at is....

Avatar A

140x220

Avatar B

127x200

Are these sizes acceptable for an avatar and if they are a little over the limit is there any leeway to it?

Both avi's have one side that is under 150 pixels so would Admins let that slide?

I have seen people rocking big arse avatars lately so.....
