without searching too hard, let's see...
In 2008, with 50 active players in the NFL, LSU trailed only Miami (55) and Georgia (54).

The person who stated this info pulled it from the cbssportline alumni tracker. I went there now, and the number is over 50 now, maybe 53... I doubt many schools have more now.

I also forgot Craig Steltz when I mentioned safeties; then there are other great players like Addai with the Colts; and Matt Flynn with the Packers-- though he backs up Rogers, he's done quite well when on the field. Hell, even players like Danny McCray, who sometimes struggled at LSU, are solid contributors in the pros.
Again, players who come to LSU have a chance to get on TV a lot (seems like 8 to 10 times a year lately, and I'm in NYC). They get a lot of exposure, they get drafted and many of them contribute significantly. Your saying they suck changes nothing you bitter little man.
The number of players LSU puts into the pros is a very telling stat. It is very likely that all of the defensive backs and defensive linemen who played this past year will be drafted. Not many schools at all can boast that.
I will repeat it again... players who play at LSU get a lot of national exposure and have better odds of being drafted than at almost any other school. No matter how much this irritates you, the fact remains.

Again where did I say that LSU did not put out pro players? I said they were not Dline U.

I call them 1st round picks. They came to LSU, got on TV a lot, got a lot of good exposure, got drafted and paid well. Clayton actually did pretty well at times.

50+ players in the NFL.
If Donnie Jones can hang on as a punter for a few more years until Wing has a chance to get drafted, LSU may even have two starting punters in the league and that's a position with low turnover. Deal with it.

I agreed they maybe shouldn't be Dline U... simply because it doesn't do justice to how many good players they put out overall.

Yes, I did, actually! Of course, probably every defensive back who started this year will probably play in the NFL too.

Good for Wing maybe he will have a better career than most of the NFL players LSU has put out so far. Shouldn't be to hard.

Way to try to switch arguments. Yes, Bama's very good and has a lot of pro talent, too. But that's not the point here. The point is that LSU puts out as much talent as anyone. And many of them are solid contributors in the NFL. Many of these guys are great players...

Given that pro teams only dress out 45 players, and can max out at 53 on the roster, LSU has enough active players to max out a roster, with players at probably every position-- and many of the players are very good. I see good offensive and defensive linemen all over this list. I see good running backs, good receivers, good safeties and cornerbacks, special team guys. The only major position group that doesn't have much star power is linebacker, but they're represented too, and if Chavis continues, I think that will change over the next couple years.
I'd ask you to stop being stupid and continuting this tedious line of trying to insulting LSU's talent, but I'm not sure you're capable of not being stupid. Apparently you don't even know the definition of the word "sucks".

What argument am I trying to change? I was talking about Dline U which your not. You guys were like we(it's not we it's LSU) puts out tons of NFL players. I agreed with you and whoever else brought this up.

All fun aside, to be fair, I don't know who has more accurate info, cbs or espn. Cbs says over 50. Still enough to field a team. Many are very good players, including the defensive linemen.

... as far as dline u goes, about 10 out of 50 of the names on that list are dlinemen. All of the current starters will be drafted. A lot of the backups/younger players will also be drafted. You can't get much better than that with regards to being successful and putting players in the league. It's been a very good decade.
Players who continue to come here will continue to have the opportunity to get on tv a lot, get a lot of good exposure and get drafted.

LSU has had some pretty highly ranked D linemen drafted in recent years. Whether they are "great" NFL players is irrelevant to them being great college players that were high draft choices. Glen Dorsey has had a solid career so far, Jarvis Green was a big piece of 2 super bowl champion teams. Like it or not, LSU has had some damn good D Linemen over the last decade.
