I'm looking to add a policy for my wife. Any recomendations on places to request quotes?

Any rule of thumb as to how much coverage I should be looking for? She currently brings in about 30-35% of household income.

Dont just get a quote. Sit down with an experienced rep at a reputable company. Life insurance is not something to just guess at

Definitely go with what has been said. Sit down with someone from the big 3 companies listed and actually find the right amount of coverage for your wife. Life Insurance shouldn't be like finding a body shop to take a dent out of a car. Just getting quotes won't really solve your problem.

Good Luck

Use this calculator LINK

1. How much will be needed at death to meet immediate obligations?

2. How much future income is needed to sustain the household?

get online quotes - arm yourself with information and rates--THEN sit down with an agent and discuss

KEEP in mind that agents are selling first to make commission- second to meet your needs

Keep them honest

Oh and remember some of the responses on this board are from agents

756, your rationale cracks me up. If they are sitting down with someone they can't trust or feel like something is not right. Then they need to get up and walk away and see someone else. Btw, it goes both ways. There are many people that have come to me or I have met that I walk away from and don't business with.
