Something to consider RE: playing bama twice.

ok this has nothing to do with the game plan and qb clusterfrick we have going on but looking back, we were never going to win that game. Even if we had the perfect game plan. People who say "extra" motivation does not matter, i wholeheartedly disagree. As a matter of fact emotion and motivation is the corner stone of college footbal and it sits right up there with the talent the coach has recruited. with that in mind, do you think this game was fair?
Alabama was given a second chance to avenge the loss to their biggest rival in a national championship game where they were told they didn't belong? Who the frick wouldn't want that chance? the only 2 times it has happened florida vs florida state and ole miss vs lsu (which ended 21-0) both avengers had thier way in like fashion. FOotball is a mental and emotional game, not just physical. Sure, it would take and unbelievable almost flawless effort and it could be done, but odds were always against us. I could tell imediatley when both teams came out on the field. They stayed very foccused during thier preparation and you could tell simply by looking at them. We ALWAYS play bama tough no matter WHAT. They had already beat them so the fire was simply gone.
They level of motivation that the tide had simply could not be found from a coach. That desire is a basic human element that is forged through expierience. As far as the tigers were concerned, we already beat them in their mind and hearts.
and of coaching and playcalling was absolutley horrible. How horrible? this horrible

They were playing with house money. Ofcourse a mulligan bowl favored bama.

yeah, and you could tell right from the beginning that they were about to leave no doubt. It's really unfair and it still pisses me off. We beat the bcsnc, orange bowl, cotton bowl and rose bowl winners. 8 ranked teams on and on. They didn't do shite to earn it.
It's totally unfair to hold a game 6 weeks after the season and declare a winner for everything. It's and exhibition game nothing more. Different year actually.
frick all the "we don't deserve a share of the title" i may not want it, but we should be recognized as the winners of the 2011 football season. thats how it used ot be anyway. How many of those tittles does bama claim? We should do the same. I know i am
still fricking pissed

Nov 5th did little more than help $abun get extra time to develop his game plan. He changed his teams Identity. Something he has never done before and Miles did not expect. I guess losing to Miles 2 times in a row forced him to change things up.

Bama's Big Break
Article sums it up nicely.
Article sums it up nicely.
quote:
Florida’s team, which tasted the bitter herbs of crushing defeat on November 30, 1996, was granted a mulligan 33 days later.
You saw what happened. Spurrier tweaked his system, adopting the shotgun look that he had always been loathe to use against FSU or anyone else. Wuerffel made his own adjustments, which were enhanced by the fact that inside the Superdome, he was playing in a climate-controlled environment more conducive to pitch-and-catch brilliance. The Gators had everything to prove, while Florida State’s coaches and players – despite a fierce dislike of their in-state rival – simply could not summon the same juice the second time around. How could they have been expected to do so? They had already climbed the mountain, already conquered their foremost adversary in a time of test and tension. What was left for them to do? All the eagerness and ambition and energy stood on Florida’s sideline.
The Gators thumped the Seminoles, 52-20. Florida State was humiliated, Bowden made to look like a fool, his defense rendered impotent and his game plan turned into a laughingstock. Florida State received withering scorn in an intensely-focused national spotlight, but the Seminoles had already done the heavy lifting. They won the true test, the game when both the 1996 Florida and Florida State football teams were a mystery to each other. In the rematch, there was no mystery, and the losing team held all the cards, not to mention all the incentive and motivation.
....
Now, 15 years later, consider what – exactly – was meaningfully different about THIS rematch in the Superdome, THIS rendezvous after a November showdown? What was different about the LSU-Alabama sequel? What central dynamic from the 1997 Sugar Bowl did NOT exist in the 2012 BCS National Championship Game?
The winner went all-out. The loser didn’t seem to care very much… because, after all, it had already prevailed against the team on the other sideline. The winner positively dominated from the word go. The loser got buried and embarrassed, pounded into submission with haymaker after punishing haymaker. Pundits – enough of them to register, at any rate – were converted and brought around to the view that, yes, this dominant performance of considerable quality (and it WAS a dominating performance of considerable quality, mind you…) was enough to give Alabama the undisputed national title, over and against an LSU squad that merely defeated the Cotton (Arkansas), Rose (Oregon), Orange (West Virginia), and….uhhhhh… the BCS National Championship Game (Alabama) winners.
Florida was voted and honored as the undisputed 1996 national champion of college football within the framework of the Bowl Alliance system. Alabama, at press time, will likely be honored as the undisputed 2011 national champion of college football within the framework of the Bowl Championship Series system

directly or indirectly if you catch my drift.

It isn't easy to beat the same team twice in a season.
In the not too recent past, it was against Tennessee in '01 (I think) and UGA in '03.

dynamics were TOTALLY different. 6 weeks of layoff and prep for one thing.

Look at the numbers. Rematches SUCK. THe team that won the first time nearly ALWAYS gets beat. It's not opinion it's history.
There is something to be said about the revenge factor. It works.

yeah, we got pigeon holed. I loved the spreadsheet espn put up of all the players misconduct. How awesome was that? Days earlier, saban gets landon collins to pull a fast one on tv and throw that in our face. I hate that sob.

I remember when Notre Dame came into Tiger Stadium and skull fricked us up and down the field. In the bowl game later that season they didn't give a flip. Same principle.
By the way, Tennessee never recovered from that 2001 SECCG. Many credit that game with the beginning of the end of the Vols.
LSU fans better enjoy what they had.

if the roles were fliped, i like our chances.
they didn't even win thier division. Horse shite. I wouldn't be surprised if alabama got thier own television network like the longhorns did. I think bama and the rec went all in for broke just to be the only school with 14 titles.
which some were won in the way our season went. Why can't we claim this year as a national tittle for us? Lsu can recognize it, frick the bcs. We BEAT the bcsc this year frick

rematch with historic division rivals for the NC is a little different in my mind
and yes, this loss could define the program. I feel that nobody really likes lsu except people in louisiana. THere has been a campaign ever since we lost and set us up for failure.
