Never had Chargrilled at Felix's, just raw. Best I have had in the city (haven't been to Cassamentos [sp?])

I wish I could say the same. I've been to Felix's countless times for raw oysters and always recommend it to friends visiting town.

The night of the Sugar Bowl, I tried their chargrilled oysters for the first time and they were some of the worst I have ever had. The cheese and what seemed like breadcrumbs on top were tough, chewy and cold. The oysters, that were even discernible as such, were extremely small and tasted like what I'd imagine charcoal to taste like. I tried my friend's crawfish cakes and red beans and rice and both were only slightly warm and flavorless.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the visit and wish I had stuck with raw oysters and Amber. It made me feel like an idiot because I pimp this place to all of my friends from out of town for raw oysters, but I had honestly never had another item on their menu.
