Season Closing Remarks

It was an amazing season Tigers. 13 wins and an SEC championship is a remarkable accomplishment. I know down here we're always expecting a National Championship each and every year, no matter what team we put out on that field. But looking back at the beginning of this season with these two quarterbacks, it was a long stretch to think this team would ever go undefeated. The good thing is we bring back the best players next year. I know the schedule won't be as tough and that will detract from the overall goal of what we set out to accomplish this season, completing arguably the greatest season ever, but I'm still looking forward to it.
Hold your head up high and be proud to be a Tiger, remember the feeling from yesterday when Bama comes to Death Valley next season on November 3rd. After losing to a rival this big in the biggest game of these player's career thus far is painful, but pain like this is rare, cherish it.
The players and coaches invested more of themselves into this season than any of us. They are feeling this loss more intensely, and will continue to feel it for longer than any of us as well. Take this pain, the anguish, the hatred, to fuel the fire that will take this team to great things over the next few years.
The book on this season has closed. It's time to move on to bigger and better things.
On a completely unrelated note: Alex Box Stadium opens up February 17th.

Good post and I agree with you! I had a blast this year and I am sure the players and coaches will feel the loss a lot worse than we fans do. But maybe they are privy to more/better answers than us. I'm really just befuddled and confused and I am not at all satisfied with miles' answers. What a dud ending.

Well put - rational and lucid. I agree with everything you said and that is why I haven't gone into complete meltdown mode. The better prepared team won last night. I'm ready to move on.

This was one of the better seasons of football I have seen. Great start, great statement games, great game Nov. 9th, and a SEC Championship. Yes, we didn't win Monday night and yea the anger will be around for a bit, but its time to close the book and look forward to the upcoming parts of the football offseason and the next year. Great job by all the payers and looking forward to the next season.
