I say he absolutely was. He just had the misfortune to play behind the greatest runningback in LSU history.

come on man, mealey was a good player, but he was NOT a "legend". thats just ridiculous

Foster was All-SEC. He was one of the best WR's in the SEC when he got pinched.

yea, he was good. but is he even a top 10 WR in school history? maybe squeak in at number 10

And people still talk about him, AND those 4 games.

99.9% of what could have been. you implied that tyler had the benefit of playing with collins throughout his career. when in actuality, he played with collins for a tiny percentage of his career

OK. now how many players should I discount from all other QB's based on your "played together only 1 season" rule?

do you count michael clayton and devery henderson among jamarcus russell's WRs? what about early doucet for jarrett lee?

No.

I was showing that there was no void of talent back then.

He had a solid team, and a great OL (one of the best ever). He had a better OC than Jefferson, through his career.

You also have to consider the sheer talent level in the SEC. Nearly all the top talent comes to the SEC now, instead of being split with the B10 and others. JJ, JL, JR, etc have to play against NFL defenses on a weekly basis.

Herb will always be my favorite Tiger of all time, but he had loads of talent on those teams.
