Yes. Notre Dame has some sore losers, or fans with bad attitudes. All schools have a few of these types of people.
These few ND fans can be some of the worst. I know Gunner and his family well. Gunner has graduated from Columbus East High School in Columbus, IN with a 3.85 to 3.9 out of 4.0 GPA. Gunner is an extremely sharp and bright young man. We have no worries about Gunner's education and intelligence. He spoke about his "getting use to school and football at LSU", as many of you heard in his radio interviews this week. This is not because he is worried about "failing in the classroom".... He personally expects a huge amount from himself in his academic success . What he wishes to accomplish is to be able to maintain his GPA at this level, or better.
ND fans like to boast about their prestigious school- which it is. Most of the fans on these sites, however, are NOT ND grads, and they only regurgitate what they hear from those few fans or graduates whom are "full of themselves". Most, if not many ND fans are great people that refrain from this behavior.
The bottom line: there are quite a few ND "trash-talking" people. These few are "sour grapes" people who speak publicly on a forum, behind a computer, that have too much time on their hands. It's very easy to do this. Also, due to their favorite team having a few problems in in some areas that they choose to perpetuate and project on the internet, or direct to the school whom they are angry about.
Ignore these types of people. Everyone has their own agenda and thought process. Plus, they like to try and "raz" the students, faculty, and faithful of LSU Tiger fans, and other schools. I have found this is especially true if people are NOT Catholic- which Gunner is not.
I would suggest that these few aggressors go to the grotto and ask for forgiveness for the spite they throw out to all of the recruits who do not choose their school, and whatever problem or issue they are dealing with, personally.

I certainly don't either. His interviews, the few that I read, sound articulate and measured for an eighteen year old kid. It's not like his family isn't used to the college experience. If he chose to come here from Indiana, then I can only assume that his parents trust his judgment and analytical skills.

I also think this, and this will so aggravate the "Coach Kelly" crowd. He is much more likely to be nurtured and cared for here under Les Miles. If only half of what his players say about him is true, then Miles looks after his players to try to insure their success. Kelly certainly doesn't impress me that way after watching some of his antics from the sidelines this year.

I keep coming back to this, and some of those Bleacher Report comments from the article were terribly insulting to what seems like a nice kid, why did you want him? ND for all its swagger has fans that are just as idiotic as any other fan base. I wish this kid well no matter what happens to his football career.
